Waterproof Jewelry Care FAQ
Waterproof & Tarnish-Resistant Jewelry Care
Our jewelry is crafted to accompany you through everyday moments while retaining its beauty and shine. Here is everything you need to know about water exposure, materials, and caring for your favorite pieces.
What does "waterproof" mean for our jewelry?
When we say our pieces are waterproof and tarnish-resistant, it means they are designed with durable base metals (such as stainless steel) and quality finishes that withstand regular moisture, sweat, and daily freshwater contact without rusting or turning skin green.
Materials & Water Resistance
- Stainless Steel & PVD 18K Gold Plating: Highly resilient for everyday wear, handling showers, hand-washing, and sweat with ease.
- Delicate Plated Pieces: While moisture-resistant, regular exposure to harsh elements can gradually shorten plating lifespan. Gentle handling keeps them glowing.
- Soldered & Charm Accents: Delicate solder joints and intricate charms should be protected from snagging, abrasive surfaces, and harsh chemicals.
Water Exposure Guide
- Daily Showers & Freshwater: Suitable for daily wear. Avoid direct contact with strong chemical soaps, exfoliants, and body washes.
- Workouts & Sweat: Sweat-resistant. We recommend rinsing with fresh water and drying afterward.
- Pools & Hot Tubs: Chlorine and pool sanitizers can react with metal alloys and wear down plating over time. We suggest removing jewelry prior to swimming, or rinsing thoroughly with tap water immediately afterward.
- Ocean & Saltwater: Salt is naturally abrasive and corrosive. If worn in the ocean, rinse thoroughly in clean fresh water and pat dry immediately.
Simple Aftercare Routine
- Rinse: Always rinse with clean tap water after exposure to chlorine, salt water, sunscreen, or heavy perspiration.
- Dry: Gently pat dry with a soft, lint-free microfiber cloth. Ensure pieces are fully dry before storage.
- Store: Keep stored in a dry, enclosed pouch or jewelry box to prevent scratching and exposure to moisture.
- Beauty Products: Apply perfumes, lotions, and sprays first, letting them dry completely before putting on your jewelry.
